E-standards for Training business activity 2008
The Framework’s E-standards for Training business activity acts as the focal point for fostering standards implementation. It operates as both a development and promotional activity in its own right and as an integrator of standards and copyright related research conducted through other initiatives. Its ongoing objectives are:
- To secure and maintain a national VET e-learning infrastructure capable of meeting current and projected demands on the VET system.
- To provide up-to-date information on and support for standards adoption and implementation.
- To facilitate collaboration on standards adoption and promotion across VET agencies, jurisdictions and institutions.
- To advocate the VET system perspective on standards at national and international levels.
The E-standards for Training website has been developed as a reference site for the standards recommended to support the resources infrastructure. This includes standards maintained through this project and its fore-runners (particularly relating to metadata), and those researched through other relevant initiatives.
A report commissioned from international interoperability expert, Jon Mason in 2005 has commended the Framework’s approach and recommended the continuation of effort in these areas. This report and the FLAG response is available from the news page of this site.
