Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO)
The Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) provides strategic advice, activities and representation relating to the application of ICT to government administration, information and services.
AGIMO has a whole-of-government focus. Its functions and responsibilities include:
- working with government agencies to develop standards to integrate services across agencies
- promoting improved government services through technical interoperability and the integration of business processes across Australian Government services and with state/territory and local authorities
- identifying and promoting the development of ICT infrastructure necessary to implement emerging Australian whole-of-government strategies
- in cooperation with other government bodies, managing international contacts and representing Australia in world forums on ICT related issues.

Australian Government Technical Interoperability Framework
AGIMO acts as the focal point for managing and updating the Technical Interoperability Framework which has been developed in close consultation with key Australian Government agencies.
The Framework addresses only the 'technical' domain but supports information and business process interoperability. It sets out a common language, conceptual model and standards that Australian Government agencies can employ as a basis for interoperating.
The Standards Catalogue identifies standards for:
- Security
- Interconnection
- Data exchange
- Discovery
- Presentation
- Metadata for Process and Data Description
- Naming

GovDex
GovDex is an Australian Government initiative to facilitate business process collaboration across portfolios, administrative jurisdictions and agencies. It promotes effective and efficient information sharing, governance structures, tools, methods and re-usable technical components.
GovDex is comprised of three components:
- a collaborative workspace;
- a registry/repository; and
- tools and methods.
