The E-standards for Training Business Activity is funded via the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework). The Framework is the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector's national e-learning strategy.
The aim of the E-standards for Training activity is to research, recommend and facilitate the implementation of technical standards ("e-standards") to facilitate the use of e-learning in the VET sector. This national activity is overseen by the E-standards Expert Group with representatives nominated from each State and Territory.
Since 2006, the National Senior Officials Committee (NSOC) agreed to adopt the standards developed through Framework projects and ratified by the E-Standards Expert Group across the national training system.
